Peter M. von Dyck

Founder and Managing Director-Entrepreneurial Development and Financing

Mr. von Dyck is President/CEO and Founder of Zassi Medical Evolutions, Inc. a Fernandina Beach, FL emerging medical device company that identifies, nurtures, manufactures and markets breakthrough technologies in the fast-growing medical marketplace. Our initial product offering has been identified within the ostomy appliance market. This billion-dollar market—comprised of millions of users—has been static for the past several decades. Zassi is on the verge of changing all that, revolutionizing the current status-quo in patient care devices.

Peter is the inventor of the Continent Ostomy Port System and the Automated Irrigation System. Serving as a sales and new products manager for Biosearch Medical Products, Inc. (BMP), he gained invaluable experience inventing, developing and launching new, high-tech therapeutic devices for endoscopic surgery and gastroenterology. His BMP experience also spanned manufacturing, quality control, quality assurance and product engineering, creating a solid manufacturing and product development foundation.

In 1994, Peter was recruited for a marketing position with the Fortune 500 company Sherwood, Davis & Geck (former division of American Home Products), serving as the youngest such executive in the company’s history. It was here that Peter spearheaded the integration and worldwide introduction of numerous innovative devices for endoscopic, radiologic and surgical gastrointestinal access.

Peter’s role at Sherwood provided international exposure and experience and allowed him to influence markets on a global level, with particular emphasis on Japan and Europe. Peter developed the company's first mobile endoscopic surgical suites for physician and corporate personnel training around the world. Five such centers presently exist in Hong Kong, Germany, Chile, Canada and the US.

Peter has also been a guest lecturer at several clinical meetings, including both the American and the Russian Societies of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition. At these seminars he presented new therapeutic technologies and critical care pathways for the immunological bolstering of the critically ill. Peter was recently named Florida Entrepreneur of the Year® by Ernst & Young for their Health Care/Life Science category, as well as receiving the Governors Award for Entrepreneurship for 2004. Proficient in the German language, he studied business administration and biological science from Raritan Valley Community College in Bridgewater, NJ and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
